The Power of a Seed is a compelling biography of Dr. José
Zaglul, the visionary Costa Rican university leader who served as
the founding president of EARTH University—an extraordinary international institution dedicated to teaching and advocating for
sustainability.
Born into an immigrant family with strong ties to his father’s
native Lebanon, Zaglul chose to pursue his college education
there despite not knowing Arabic, French, or English. Undeterred,
he gained admission to the American University of Beirut, the
top-ranked U.S. university abroad, where he studied agriculture
and immersed himself in the diverse and cosmopolitan culture of
his ancestral land.
